There is nothing like the feeling of waking up in the morning … grabbing a mug of fresh filter coffee and listening to some good music... Today is one of those days.
I remember listening to Murder Machine the first single from Polar Lights back in 2013. I remember being blown away and asking myself—who are these guys?
Into the light, the latest single from the house of Polar Lights is an offering of pure delight; the track starts off with a melancholic intro that sets up vocalist Mar Jamir’s voice perfectly. He sings… “Looking past these walls of tradition, will I tremble or will they fall”, thought provoking words indeed.
Jamir’s evocative vocals are punctuated by drummer Kilen, rhythm guitarist Arennungsang and bassist Lanu Toshi. Kilen’s minimal solitary hits on the drum pierces right through the track and sets it up perfectly for Temjen Jamir’s tasteful guitar work, it hits the spot!
What stands out for me is that the music needs no convincing. These guys always have a unique element to all their songs and nothing about Polar Lights feels contrived.
