As I listen to this track, the first impression that comes to my mind is this... Ron Cha is good.
Actually, let me rephrase that - Ron Cha is really freakin good!!
Giant 'Baby Elephant' Steps by Assamese musician, Ron Cha, starts with a drum loop that has a most peculiar swing and seamlessly flows into Cha's Rhodes like chords... It's a superb intro.
Essentially divided into two main parts, Cha demonstrates his artistry with ease and peppers the track with blistering solo's and gentle warm chords. I really like the way the acoustic piano takes over from the keyboard, setting up the second half of the track.
This is not music for the cheap thrills of beer: it is music for a bottle of wine or some of that 'good' whiskey you've been hiding from your friends.
