I have specialized in Animation Film Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Gujarat and currently working at ECHOSTREAM, a design studio in Gangtok, Sikkim, where we handle multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with the State Government. I also volunteer in many social workshops that BREW (a sub brand under ECHOSTREAM) organizes in and around Gangtok. In the past, I have worked as a graphic artist at POGO channel for a show called FAQ and was also involved in designing the visual language and branding of MTUNES HD channel for about two years.
2014, I decided to move back to Sikkim with the primary reason to look into developing sustainable tourism in my native village Leek, North Sikkim, and also to explore the local knowledge and folklores into visual mediums such as animated short films and comic books. At present, I am working on a book illustration project for children which is based on the famous footballer from Sikkim, Bhaichung Bhutia written by Mr. Leonard Lefevre, one of his teachers while he was studying at TNA, Gangtok.
MUSICAL NATURE is an ecological art project in collaboration with many folk musicians from Meghalaya and other contemporary artists from North East India. The project is designed to aim at communication of music and art through the medium of visual and sound, also highlighting a specific form of nature as a subject of celebration and inquiry.
My challenge in the project was to reveal the many intricate cultures of the NE of India into the title design in a musical way.
